Hurricanes Helene and Milton have caused extensive damage to Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. You can impact the lives of those in need.

You can provide practical help to people who have lost everything after the hurricane. Along the way, you can encourage them and share God's love. Serve for a day or multiple days. No experience or training necessary.

We have partners serving in Florida and Georgia (trained and sefl-contianed units only right now). Tasks are varied and depends on location and dates available to serve. While we are deployed in numerous locations, those below are the current areas in need of additional volunteers.

Sarasota, Florida:

Serve on the flood recovery team by "mucking-out" houses. You'll have the opportunity to minister to those affected by the hurricane as you serve. This involves helping homeowners in one of the first steps of recovery - removing wet items and building materials.

  • No experience needed. We'll teach you everything you need to know.
  • Volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Volunteers ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Lodging at the church is provided based upon availability. Lodging accommodations will be confirmed prior to departure. Please bring a cot or twin air mattress and a sleeping bag or other bedding. Only volunteers ages 18 and older may stay overnight at the church.
  • Meals and drinks are provided.
  • Service time begins each day at 8 a.m. and our work will conclude at approximately 4 p.m.
  • Please wear long pants, comfortable clothes, work gloves, close-toed shoes and a cap. If serving on the feeding team, please tie back long hair.
  • This service location is in partnership with The Faith Responders based in Tallahassee.
  • Dates are available through November and perhaps into December pending workload. The site will be closed the week of Thanksgiving.

Asheville, North Carolina area:

October 27 - While we currently serve, we are reassessing the areas of need and type of volunteer assistance required. Some areas need mud out, others need initial rebuilding, and some remain difficult to reach. Information will be updated here as information becomes available but at least weekly.
